Data Adjustments VC4 Bowler's Economy

Some of you may have realised that not everything about VC4 is accurate. One of the most problematic areas of play is bowler's economy rate.

If you're like me, you've probably tinkered with data files to create super players with batting averages of 999, strike rates of 1 wicket per ball and economy rates of zero.

Except, of course, that whenever you put the economy rate at zero, batsmen can still score runs.

Well, after exhaustive testing, I can now present to you the adjusted economy rates. I haven't done them all, but if you want your bowlers to actually have an economy rate that matches their career averages, here it is:

4.25 = 999 in text file
3.95 = 4.3 in text file
3.98 = 4.2 in text file
3.85 = 4.1 in text file
3.75 = 4.0 in text file
3.67 = 3.9 in text file
3.63 = 3.8 in text file
3.62 = 3.7 in text file
3.57 = 3.6 in text file
3.48 = 3.5 in text file
3.40 = 3.4 in text file
3.43 = 3.3 in text file
3.29 = 3.2 in text file
3.21 = 3.1 in text file
3.20 = 3.0 in text file
3.12 = 2.9 in text file
3.05 = 2.8 in text file
3.00 = 2.7 in text file
2.98 = 2.6 in text file
2.90 = 2.5 in text file
2.85 = 2.4 in text file
2.75 = 2.3 in text file
2.65 = 2.2 in text file
2.65 = 2.1 in text file
2.60 = 2.0 in text file
2.50 = 1.9 in text file
2.45 = 1.8 in text file
2.43 = 1.7 in text file
2.30 = 1.6 in text file
2.30 = 1.5 in text file
2.20 = 1.4 in text file
2.20 = 1.3 in text file
2.20 = 1.2 in text file
2.05 = 1.1 in text file
2.00 = 1.0 in text file
1.95 = 0.9 in text file
1.90 = 0.8 in text file
1.85 = 0.7 in text file
1.75 = 0.6 in text file
1.70 = 0.5 in text file
1.65 = 0.4 in text file
1.63 = 0.3 in text file
1.55 = 0.2 in text file
1.47 = 0.1 in text file
1.40 = 0 in text file

You would adjust the date files like this:

Original
RG Nadkarni,191,-6,40.36,-1,6399,76.8,1.67,3,3,100,

Adjusted
RG Nadkarni,191,-6,40.36,-1,6399,76.8,0.42,3,3,100,

Nadkarni's career bowling economy rate is 1.67 per over but in VC4 such a number would result in an economy rate of between 2.3 to 2.4 per over. The adjusted economy rate of 0.42 should produce an economy rate of 1.65 or so in the game (Depending upon circumstances. In this game Nadkarni averaged 1.47 per over. The more games you play, the more that economy rates will meet the levels outlined above.)

---------

Any number below zero (eg -0.01 to -999) results in a run rate of 1.4.

It appears that bowlers cannot be more expensive than 4.25 runs per over.
