- Changing the preferences to allow sides to automatically pick their first XI.
- The factoring in of a batsman's strike rate - this will allow players like Adam Gilchrist to hit quick runs while players like Geoff Boycott can score more slowly.
- Rather than having "4 day match" or "Test match", matches can be determined by a maximum amount of overs. Thus you can play 3 day matches, 4 day matches, 5 day matches, 6 day matches, and timeless matches. Adding twenty-twenty matches would be good too.
- Allow different points systems (see other blog posts for more details)
- Have a scorecard saved for each and every match played.
- More detailed records section to fit cricinfo records for batsmen and bowlers.
- Autoplay an entire series or championship, then (via the scorecards) check out the good matches.
- A points system to determine man of the match, man of the series and player of the tournament (similar to International Test Cricket)
- This points system should change the current one which occasionally awards man-of-the-match to undeserving players.
- Fix the bug that allows a match to be drawn despite having one side lose its final wicket in the final available over.
- Allow weather to influence a match.
- Change the game parameters to allow for unusual matches. eg Brian Lara scoring 501* against Durham, Queensland scoring 6-900 against Victoria, Jason Gillespie scoring 201* against Bangladesh (none of these would ever occur while playing VC4)
- Port the game to Linux and Mac.
- Allow the game to be played in a Firefox browser tab (as an extension)
